Below is a list of the most professional and well-equipped mountain bike shops in Chiang Mai. If you have any comments you'd like to share about these bike shops, or if there is a shop you think should be added, please contact us.

Bike Zone

Bicycle shop opposite the Chiang Mai University main entrance on Huay Keaw Road, on the right heading west toward the zoo.

There's not a great choice of bikes or equipment, but they might have what you're looking for and you might pick up a deal.

If you are in the Chiang Mai University area, this is your nearest shop and will save you a trip into the city. They have recently halved their shop space so looks like the shop may not be around for much longer.

Chaitawat

On Prapokklao Road, south off Ratchadamnoen Road, on the right after crossing Ratchamankha.

A Thai-Chinese owned shop and one of the first. They have been in business many years and have become technically proficient in recent times. All round Chiang Mai's best stocked bicycle shop and in general the best prices.

Jacky Bike

Turn left off Maninopharat Road and it's on the left opposite Chiang Phuak market. A very well presented bike shop with lots of beautiful bikes and bicycle parts. Probably the first place to look if it's fancy 'gear' you're looking for.

Song

Follow Moon Muang Road north to the corner of the moat, swing left into Sri Phum and it's on your left. Not as well run or stocked as Chaitawat, but a good alternative if the latter haven't got what you need. A good place to pick up a cheap new bike if you're only around for a short while and don't need anything too good.

Top Gear

Half way down Chiang Moi Road, look for the striking blue and yellow on the right after the Thai Farmers Bank. Top Gear is a Canadian-owned mountain bike shop, generally recognized as having the best tools of all the bike shops in Chiang Mai.

Velo City

Next to the Rimping Superstore and the Novotel hotel on Chotana Road. The Rimping is one of the best supermarkets in Chiang Mai for western specialty food which is a good enough excuse to check this shop out. This bicycle shop is the place to go if you have a race bike or need stuff for 28" wheeled bikes.
